Bunny Magic Adoption Policies

1.  Rabbits are only adopted to qualified indoor homes.  Rabbits must have primary living space indoors and be housed indoors every night.  With supervision and a secured area, rabbits may spend part of each day out of doors.

2.  The rabbit must be welcomed by EVERY member of a household.  Children must have the permission of their parents in order to adopt a rabbit.

3.  If the rabbit is going to be alone for the majority of the time Bunny Magic strongly recommends that the adopter consider the social nature of the rabbit and adopt a bonded pair.  

4.  Bunny Magic offers adopters the opportunity to take their rabbit for a health check if desired.  This must take place within 6 days of adoption, and is at the cost of the adopter.  However, Bunny Magic will work with adopter if any health problems are detected at this initial appointment.

5.  Bunny Magic is unable to return adoption donations.  We are a certified not-for-profit organization and our donations are no more returnable than those to any other organization such as the United Way or Humane Society.

6.  Adopter agrees to provide adequate housing, food, water, shelter, and necessary veterinary care upon sickness, disease, or injury.  Failure to do so may result in Bunny Magic assuming possession of the rabbit.

7.  Rabbits adopted from Bunny Magic must be returned to our sanctuary in the case of insurmountable problems in the adoptive home.  However,rabbit cages emptied through adoption are filled within a week.  Therefore, Bunny Magic requires advance notice of rabbits being returned to allow us the opportunity to find space without putting another rabbit in danger.  Some common sense and courtesy is expected.

8.  Bunny Magic may require a home inspection prior to adoption.  We may require notification by landlord that rabbits are acceptable pets as necessary.

9.  Bunny Magic adoption fees are $80 for a single rabbit, and $110.00 for a bonded m/f pair.  Additional refundable security fees may be assessed on young animals who are not spay/neutered due to age.

10.  Additional policies may be defined by the adoption contract and the operating standards of Bunny Magic.  Please discuss any questions or concerns with us prior to your adoption of a Bunny Magic rabbit.
